Seven elephants carrying the French Governor of Indochina, his wife and staff were stopped at the entrance of the forest at the center of what is now known as upper Vietnam in 1924.

Everyone was in shock. The giant green cobra stood up on the ground to look directly into the lead male elephant’s eyes, almost seven and a half feet above the forest floor.

No one moved for many minutes. Once everyone accepted the authority of the cobra, he gently returned to the ground and disappeared into the forest.

Everyone knew before they spoke to each other at length that they had just graduated into authority known as world leadership.
